Subjects Taught

Piano, music theory, and college prep (for prospective music majors) are primarily taught. Related fields such as improvisation and composition are taught as well. 

Lessons are generally available during the following hours:

  • Monday 10-8

  • Tuesday 4-8

  • Wednesday 10-8

  • Thursday 4-8

  • Friday 10-8

Saturday availability varies.

First-come, first served, call or email for an appointment. You are certainly welcome to make an appointment to discuss the suitability of lessons.

  • 30 minute lesson: $32

  • 45 minute lesson: $45

  • 60 minute lesson: $60

  • Family discounts available

Lessons are billed monthly. Missed lessons can usually be made up. 

We accept credit cards, PayPal, check and cash.

Teaching Style

Music is taught in a traditional style, emphasizing learning to read music, developing a repertory, learning the fundamentals of music. No gimmicks, no special systems or eccentric lesson plans. 

Lessons are conducted in a friendly and relaxed fashion, always tailored to the student's level and ambition. 

Student Profiles

Mr. Gibbons teaches all levels from beginner to advanced. All ages are accepted. Lesson plans are tailored to the individual: the individual goals and aspirations of the student are naturally accommodated.

Students may begin at any age. The youngest recommended age, depending on maturity, is five or six years old.

Materials

Mr. Gibbons will recommend music books, etc. and where to purchase them. Occasionally materials are provided.
